Director of Counseling
Tess Robinson is the Founder and Managing Partner of TEAM Education Consulting Company. Tess is a graduate of Harvard Business School where she earned a MBA and Stanford University where she earned an AB in International Relations. She has also earned her certificate in College Admissions Counseling at University of California, Los Angeles. Tess has been assisting students in preparing for and applying to boarding schools, colleges and universities in the U.S since 1998. Due to the unique circumstances of college admissions for international students, Tess developed a family-based counseling practice in Shanghai in 2011. Student admissions since then include, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Amherst, Swarthmore, Pomona, UC Berkeley, UCLA and many others. Prior to TEAM Education, Tess worked professionally in the fields of finance, marketing and consulting. Tess speaks English, French and Spanish and is conversant in Mandarin Chinese.
Tess serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Community Centre Shanghai and holds seat on board of the New Jersey Advocates for Education. She served as the president of the Yew Chung International School parent organization (POP) for 9 years. She is a member of both NACAC (National Association of College Admissions Counselors) and OACAC (Overseas Association of College Admission Counselors). She has lived in Shanghai for over 10 years with her husband and three sons, the eldest of whom attends Pomona College in California.

Dr. Peter Wozniak
Dr. Peter Wozniak (“Dr. Woz”) holds a BSFS from Georgetown University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Indiana University. He spent twelve years teaching at universities in the US and in Europe and is published in his academic specialty (Habsburg history in the 19th century). Additionally, he has nine years of experience teaching AP World and AP European history in private high schools in the US. Dr. Woz has lived in Poland, Germany, Austria, and Bulgaria. He has also worked for ETS as a grader and in test development for the SAT and AP tests. In addition to his native English, Dr. Woz speaks German and Polish. Dr. Woz is firmly committed to the notion that the primary goal of a good teacher and mentor is to instill a life-long love of learning and passion for one’s subject.
Throughout his years as a teacher, Dr. Woz was also a consultant and mentor to high school seniors, advising them both formally and informally about college choices. He also has served for years as an alumni interviewer for his alma mater, Georgetown University. Given this background, it was a natural and easy step for him to move from full-time teaching to full-time academic consulting

Associate Education Counselor
Gabby graduated Cum Laude from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. While at Northeastern, Gabby studied abroad twice: one semester studying Australian film at Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia, and one semester at Cambridge University (Clare College), studying British literature, and art history. Gabby taught English writing as a second language at Northeastern University’s Writing Center from 2011-2012. Inspired by her teaching experiences at Northeastern, Gabby accepted a position as a writing teacher at East China Normal University in Shanghai, China, where she inspired and guided Chinese students before joining TEAM Education.

Client Services Director
Linna earned her BA from Jilin University and majored in Business English. She went on to major in Intercultural Communications at the Chinese Language and Culture College of Nankai University, one of the first research institutions in China specializing in teaching Putonghua as a foreign language and graduated with a MA in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. Linna joined TEAM Education with over 8 years experience in research and teaching Putonghua as well as writing and publishing Putonghua text books. Her bi-lingual language skills and multi-cultural understanding are great assets to our international and local families.

Ruby has a background in Environmental Analysis, Interior Design and Architecture. She was educated in Hong Kong, Canada, the United States and Germany. Shanghai has been her home since 2006. From her work experience in managing building construction, design and large and small events, she brings multidisciplinary communication strategies and inherent understanding of international secondary and higher education into TEAM.

Jin graduated from Shanghai University in Electrical Engineering in 2010. Upon graduation, Jin spent one year in Boston, Massachusetts in a pre-MBA program where he strengthened his English skills and developed his knowledge of the American education system. After one year of study in Boston, Jin went on to attend and receive a Masters in Business Administration from Findlay University in Ohio. While at Findlay University, he worked as the Graduate Assistant for the International Admissions Department and was nominated as the best employee. In his job, Jin recruited international students, processed applications, handled immigration processes, and provided outstanding service to the international community and the university overall.

Kristin is currently based in Ithaca, NY after 3 years with TEAM in Shanghai, China. Kristin first became interested in helping students find their best fit school while serving as a campus tour guide at Penn State University. This passion lead to a career in higher education at numerous public and private universities including Syracuse University, Ithaca College, Binghamton University-State University of New York, and Columbia College. Kristin has over 9 years of experience in higher education including expertise in international recruitment, college admissions, orientation, academic advertising, judicial affairs, and residence life. Kristin is member of NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) as well as NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Kristin has a passion for working with students and helping them through the process of discovery and self-determination.

Lauren A. Haller

Lauren earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University and received a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School. Lauren served as an alumni interviewer for prospective MBA candidates for Columbia Business School. She then worked in New York City as a marketing professional specializing in consumer packaged goods for Revlon, the Lever Brothers division of Unilever and Bristol-Meyers Squibb. Most recently, Lauren owned and operated a profitable corporate gift company. She is married and has two school-aged children and a rising Senior.

California College Specialist
Karen Marble earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Stanford University. Following graduation, she was a sales representative for the Eastman Kodak company, G.D.Searle Inc. (Monsanto’s pharmaceuticals subsidiary), and Stuart Pharmaceuticals (an I.C.I Americas Inc. Subsidiary). Karen then earned her Juris Dotorate (J.D.) from Loyola Law School and practiced law in Los Angeles. Karen volunteers her time with school children teaching science and math. She is married and has two school-aged children.

Alicia Munevar graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1989. During her term there, she was an essay reader in the admissions department. After graduating, she worked as an auditor and tax professional for Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers. Alicia is a registered tax preparer with the Internal Revenue Services and owns her own accounting practice in Greater Los Angeles, California. Alicia is married and currently has two sons in college and one son in graduate school.
